2009 recap

What a year it has been!

In the course of the last twelve months, our daughter Evangeline has gone from a not-so-tiny infant to a busy one year old running all over our house. Transitioning into parenthood is quite a ride... Add to that both parents playing full-time in a band and things get really crazy! June 12th, we set out on our first extended tour with our band, REILLY (Evie was about 6 1/2 months old). We played clubs, festivals and churches across the Midwest and Southern United States, making it as far west as Sioux Falls, SD and south to Fort Lauderdale, FL (I know, we were suffering). Evie even got to see magic kingdom before her first birthday and we visited our family in Minneapolis --twice. While on the road, we live out of our 15-passenger van (nicknamed "the Beast") and our 16-foot trailer (nicknamed "Beauty" ... not really). We have made some fast friends in faraway places; Chicago never felt so close, now that we go there so regularly. We feel so blessed to have this opportunity to live out our dreams while still in our twenties.

Dan also has a great job with Trinity Biotech and Noele finished her architectural registration process (although right now she is focused on Evie). We are living in a house that we bought in 2006 on the edge of the city of Philadelphia in a borough called Lansdowne. We love the outdoor markets, festivals, library storytimes, summertime parades and the little coffee shop (almost daily). We also love that we are only a few blocks (really) from Noele's parents, and Dan's parents are a quick 50-minute ride down the Northeast Extension. Needless to say, the grandparents LOVE it when we're home.

We are currently home until the end of January writing for a new album, which we will be recording the month of February in Nashville. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, as we do you! One thing I will say for the road... home has never felt so sweet.
